2016 did a lot for me… It created the bridge that lead me to finding myself and my passion and turning that passion into what I do today. A lot of the things I’ve learned throughout this year, whether it be professional or amateur, I’ve learned one very important thing. I’ve learned just how much you all sleep on the artists and graphic designers behind your favorite rapper/producers artwork. This year alone has been the rise of many different artists and creatives because they know their time to shine has come along. I mean think about it? Where would your favorite artists be without their vibrant, authentic, & artistic artwork to attract your eyes to their music? No where my g, your favorite rapper would be no where. As easy as it is for these musicians to make a name for themselves off of their music, over the years it has become increasingly harder and harder for the people behind the creative vision of such music to show themselves and gain the respect for their hard work. Well 2016 will stamp as the year that these artists put their foot down, came into the light, and proved to the world their creative talent and their true nature behind their artistic work. So without further delay I would like to introduce you all to the creative powerhouse with a roster damn near longer than that of the Senclaire team, the group consisted of all different types of artists going into all different creative fields. Today I would like to present to you all, creators direction®

Trapghanistan

First let’s start with one of the founders, a good friend and VERY creative visionary, Trapghanistan. Trap has been in the game for several years now working under all of our noses, the man is one of the most hardworking designers and creatives in the game right now as he’s been creating a lane for himself as well as his teammates over at creators direction®. I got the chance to speak with Trap and get a better understanding of who is, this persona/lifestyle that he lives, and what he has planned for the future.

Who are you?

Trap: Trapghanistan, Art director from Orlando now living in Los Angles currently

How old are you?

Trapghanistan himself

Trap: 20.

What is it that you do?

Trap: I brand artist and companies through my vision. Either through design or photography and I curate cdtheteam.

So between Design & Photography which field did you get into first?

Trap: Design, I started creating at a very young age. My grandma got diagnosed with cancer so I would always be inside taking care of her and I loved computers and would always draw and then I discovered Adobe Photoshop. I have been designing for 8+ years nowI just took what I learned from design and incorporated it into my photography and eventually saved up for a nice camera and started taking my craft serious.

What was your old style like in comparison to your current one?

Trap: My old style was hilarious; I was a huge Lil Wayne Stan so I just based a lot of my art on his cover direction. It was very random, not very thought out. I was playing around with the Photoshop still trying figure out my look. Now I feel that I have my own look and now have a very creative mindset so I’m always thinking next level.

Have you noticed your progression from when you first started?

Trap: Yes so much!!! It’s honestly amazing and beautiful to me.

When did you first notice your progression in your art?

Trap: When teamsesh hit me up for a flyer design. It was huge cause for a good minute I was obsessed with bones and the whole movement.

How did that first step push you to work harder in the future?

Trap: I knew people who influenced me heavy were noticing my vision so it made me go hard as fuck on the art.

Do you have any favorite pieces you’ve made so far?

Trap: My new collage style pieces are my new favorite pieces.

Do you have any inspirations as far as art goes?

Trap: Yes. All of cdtheteam // Gallardo // Andy Warhol // Basquiat // Jetpack etc.

How often do you find yourself creating?

Trap: 24/7 365, If I’m not then I’m dead.

When creating your pieces what elements do you pay the most attention to?

Trap: Colors & details, colors make my dark to light & details make me realize I need to look at the small things too.

Is there anything we should be expecting from you in the future?

Trap: Yes. whateverfits. everywhere soon, I plan to drop an art film really soon, I’m signed to Lucy Ford now so many art shows are in the works, I also plan to have my first gallery in LA around January “dayinthetrap” by trapghanistan.

Is there anything you want to say to the fans who’ll read this?

Trap: I love you. If I didn’t have y’all I would not be trapghanistan. Keep creating and inspire the world forever. Don’t give up on your dreams, life is beautiful at the end of the day.

Khan_JPEG

Next up is Khan_JPEG, the second founder of creators direction®. Khan has been in the game for a few years but has already used his vision and style to change the game in all different ways this year alone. Khan is more of the “under the radar” “you’ll hear about it when it’s done” type artist where all of his pieces and moves are really mentioned until the product is in its final stages. Even still, I got the chance to speak with Khan and get some insight on the mysterious Mr.JPEG and his plans for the future.

Who are you?

Khan: I am me, my mommas son, I don’t wanna call myself a designer cause I don’t wanna subject myself to one thing I got ideas for things of all sorts, I wanna change the world in a way so I can change how kids think, kids are always forced at a young age to live there life with imaginary rules. Na bro do anything and everything you want. And I’ll do it all w my art like Warhol changed modern advertising.
